Description

This is a sole opportunity to own one of the finest and fastest, easy-to-fly, historical jet engine aircraft on offer. The aircraft is brand-new and the only one of that type in flying condition.
Designed by one of the most creative and inspirational aircraft engineers/developers of its time, Ermanno Bazzocchi, the Aermacchi MB326 was the most famous jet trainer of her Era, being adopted by the Air Forces of several countries including Italy, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil.
A special single-seater version for a ground-attack role, it was developed and used by SAAF during campaigns against the People's Armed Forces for the Liberation of Angola (FAPLA) and Cuban expeditionary troops in Angola between 1975 and 1989. This version, locally denominated Impala Mk II, was armed with two 30mm guns and three pylons on each wing to carry a wide variety of armaments. The aircraft for sale belongs to this version and her permit to fly allows the aircraft to carry the loads contained in the flight manual.
Magnifically restored in Italy by the same team who rebuilt and operated another Aermacchi MB326 (double seater), this aircraft is both a beautifully classic and unique jet engine aircraft to own, being capable of operating as a target, thanks to its powerful flight characteristics. Aircraft structure derives from MB-326K s/n 6754 (never flown before).
