Description

The Romanian-built Yakolev Yak-52 is the easiest entry into aerobatic, vintage, and 'warbird' flying on the market. Designed as an entry point for the Soviet fighter school, DOSAAF, the Yak-52 was built to closely resemble future jet aircraft such as the L-29 Delfin, L-39 Albatross, and MiG-15. The Yak-52TD is a staple of the aerobatics scene and can be seen taking part in competition aerobatics all over the world.
The Yak-52 was modified by "TERMIKAS" to become the Yak-52 TD (Taildragger). Accordingly, it has no nose wheel.
The reduction in drag and weight (45kg for the 400 hp TD compared to the 360 hp Yak-52) has a dramatic effect on performance. Max cruise is 310 km/h, initial climb is 1,960 fpm and the landing and takeoff distance is also much shorter.
