Description
This aircraft underwent a 10 year full nut and bolt restoration.
On the 14th of September 2023 this aircraft was satisfactorily test flown and subsequently received a new LAA permit to fly
It is an exceptional sturdy and agile aircraft with two open cockpits in tandem and fixed landing gear. The fuselage was steel tube, covered in fabric and metal, the wings wood and fabric. It first flew on the 80 hp (60 kW) Hirth HM60.
They were retired from service in 1968 (Spanish Air Force).
The Jungmann 131 was built under license by :
Switzerland, which operated 94, of which 88 were built under licence by Dornier.
CASA 1.131
Spanish license-built version and fitted with a ENMA Tigre IV engine. Approx 530 were built in Spain.
10 were built in Czechoslovakia by Tatra as the T 131.
In Japan, 1,037 were built for the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service with Hatsukaze engines as the Kokusai Ki-86 and 339 for the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service as the Kyushu K9W.
